Who's In Your Inner Circle?
-- Great Resource for Your Business
"You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with."
Jim Rohn, Author and self-made millionaire
Who's In Your Inner Circle?
I've noticed an important point from working with various clients in direct selling over the years. The individuals that purposely spend time with the most successful leaders in their company, achieve their own success in a much shorter period of time then the individuals that choose otherwise.
Thinking about Jim Rohn's quote above, one particular rising star comes to mind. This new leader seeks out the best in her business any time she attends company meetings, conferences, award trips and any other gatherings of accomplished leaders. She loves hearing their business tips and secrets and because she is sincere in her quest for knowledge, they are delighted to share with her. She has formed strong friendships from this "inner circle of wise advisors" and feels that her success is partially due to the great mentors she has sought out.

Are you spending your valuable time with the best and most successful leaders in your business? Or are you "hanging out" with "complainers" and co-horts that focus on what's not happening in their business as opposed to positive things that are working?
Take a honest look at your five closest business relationships (your inner circle). Are these five relationships with successful, positive, motivated individuals? If not, who are the leaders that display these characteristics? What can you do to spend more time with these leaders and less time with your business associates who have not yet shifted their attitude?
If you are hesitant to drop some of your less positive associates, then at least establish some boundaries around what you want to hear. If another person starts to complain about their business or the company, then gently steer them to what you would rather hear. Here's a suggested phrase to help: "I'm really working to maintain a positive attitude about my business and you can help me by only sharing what's working well for you right now." Setting this boundary not only helps you but also helps the other person make a shift.
I encourage you to surround yourself with supportive, uplifting individuals willing to share their success tips with you!
To your new accomplished inner circle!!
