Finish Strong and Have Fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s only six weeks until the end of the year and it's less than that when you pull out the holidays. It can be a bit scary when you look at how much you have to do and still run your business at the same time. If you’re like most of us, you are thinking about the holiday shopping, cooking, entertaining, wrapping, and decorating that gets added to your already long to-do list. Would you like to enjoy the season AND end the year with strong results? Below are some suggestions to help.
Pick ONE significant, realistic business goal you like to accomplish in the next four weeks. I say four weeks because most self-employed individuals really pull back from their business the last two weeks of the year. Next, think about your favorite part of the holidays. Pick the ONE aspect that you enjoy the most. Maybe you love shopping, entertaining, baking, decorating, or wrapping gifts.
Now, here’s the fun part! Look at your goal and your favorite part of the holidays. How can you combine the two?
|
Let’s say your goal is to double your personal sales in the next four weeks and your favorite part of the holidays is entertaining. What creative ways can you come up with to honor your love of entertaining and increase your holiday sales at the same time? Perhaps it’s throwing a customer appreciation party where you display all your holiday product specials. Or partnering with a friend or two in another direct selling business to host a “shopping party” where friends and customers can complete their holiday shopping at one time. Or maybe have a neighborhood open house and give each guest samples of your product; then follow-up with a phone call to help solve their shopping needs.
What if your goal was to encourage your team to stay active through the holidays and your favorite part of the holidays is shopping? What inspiration comes to mind when you think about combining these two activities? What pops up for me is arranging a group shopping expedition with some of your team and to conduct an “impromptu” meeting while riding together or over a lunch break. It would be a fun way to get shopping done and to share ideas for staying active in business through the holidays.
If you enjoying baking and want to increase your sales then you could deliver a baked “goody” to each of your customers and take orders for product at the same time. Or if decorating is your passion then send a special product offer by email to your clients. Tell them that any product purchase includes a personalized “bonus” item - your much sought after holiday decorating tips!
These are just a few suggestions to stimulate your own creativity. I’m sure you can imagine even more pleasurable ways to join business with holiday enjoyment. The key is to pick one goal and one aspect of the holidays you love and concentrate on combining the two in a fun, inventive way!
