Gratitude - An Important, but Often Forgotten Business Builder

There's a universal law that states: What you focus on expands. In other words, what you put your attention on, grows. The end of the year is the perfect time for reflecting on all the good things in your business. By thinking about the multitude of things for which you have to be grateful, you are actually growing, expanding and attracting more of the same!

Take a few minutes and create a "Gratitude List". Actually write down all the positives things in your business. Here are just a few ideas to help you get started. See what else you can put on your list.

I am extremely grateful. Thank you for:

  1. Wonderful customers
  2. Fantastic products
  3. An invigorating team
  4. Supportive family and friends
  5. An ethical company
  6. Strong leadership
  7. A flexible schedule
  8. Ever increasing new opportunities
  9. Ample resources available
  10. The ability to work from home
  11. A rewarding career
  12. Advancement potential
  13. Others willing to share their success tips
  14. Awards / trips / bonuses


Wouldn't it be wonderful to see everything on a list like this expand? Expressing gratitude is a catalyst. Putting your attention on what you want (see your list), rather than what you don't want (lack of success), sends a message to the Universe that says: "Send me more of this please!"

Do you ever compare your success with someone else’s? Do you ever wish your team was bigger or more like another’s? Is a great deal of your time spent in comparison? Gratitude brings you back by requiring you to recognize the gifts you already have.

Use this holiday season to truly be grateful for all the blessings in your business and your life. Make a commitment to test this law the rest of the month. Write your list, read it daily, put your focus on the positives in your business and show your gratitude. Here's to your gratitude list growing by leaps and bounds!
